Services

I am an integrative counsellor which means I am experienced in a broad range of counselling techniques to provide therapy that is tailored to your needs – in a way that best suits you.

Integrative Counselling

This approach combines person centered and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT counselling) to understand an individual’s experience from their perspective, incorporating elements of CBT counselling focusing on changing unhelpful cognitive thoughts, improving emotional regulation, & developing personal coping strategies.

Supervision

Counselling supervisors help with case conceptualisation, methods, or specific interventions.

“Good supervision is much more than case management. It includes working in depth on the relationship between practitioner and client in order to work towards desired outcomes and positive effects.”

BACP Ethical Framework.

Teaching & Training

CPCAB approved tutor, currently teaching Level 2 Certificate in Counselling skills. This awarding body is the only awarding organisation run by counsellors for counsellors.

"

“Thank you so much for all your help. I really do think that you have changed my life for the better. I am looking forward to having a fulfilled, mindful and happy life! :-)”

"

“You created a safe, non-judgemental and compassionate space. You gave me free reign to move and lead the conversation, but with subtle and skillful interjections, kept me focussed and clear to get me closer to my goal.”

"

“We talked about issues that went deeper than this one specific family issue, and I felt so much better for it.”

"

“The counselling was a way of getting everything out of my head and out of my mouth and being able to put puzzle pieces together. This wouldn’t have been possible without Adrienne’s wisdom, guidance and humour.”

“The more that the client perceives the therapist as real or genuine, as empathetic and having unconditional positive regard for him, the more the client will move away from a static, fixed, unfeeling, impersonal type of functioning, and the more he will move toward a way of functioning marked by a fluid, changing, acceptant experiencing of different personal feelings.

The consequence of this movement is an alteration in personality and behaviour in the direction of psychic health and maturity and more realistic relationships to self, others and the environment.”

Carl Rogers, On Becoming a Person (1956)
